Working towards a sustainable future 🌱

Valerio Gaddi

Our own Anette Jansson has spent the last couple of months learning more about the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the 17 Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs).

No matter how well-versed a person might be in the areas, there is always new data and ideas to digest.

Thanks to BDO both Anette and Nordic GEM were able to partake of this extremely relevant course by UN Global Compact Network UK gaining a certificate for both the individual and the company participating. The attendees covered the widest range of SMEs, with all from a few employees up to several thousands. The most interesting part was to see how far everyone already had come in at least planning for a more sustainable business, and we were all eager to learn from the case studies presented to us.

We feel motivated taking on the challenge to increase our level of sustainability, and since our CEO Pavel Teplykh genuinely cares about this topic, we will most likely have a better chance to change the small details and get the whole team involved compared to larger companies.

Before the course even started, we had several efforts made and we know that every step made in the right direction matters.

One single person cannot do everything, but everyone can do something. No matter how small business you have, there is always room for focusing on a SDG or two.

So, before procrastinating further, follow our example and take the first steps in building a sustainable future!
